As for the financial aspect, some Abbasid court women participated in the extravagant spending of kharaj (tax on land, crops etc), and some had their unique practices in money spending. Nonetheless, some had a distinctive social role, as they spent on road paving, building of hospitals, religious foundations, and many benevolent activities. |
