Abstract
:
The present study aimed to reveal the relationship of self-concept and socialization between female prisoners for person and moral crimes and to identify the extent of differences in the degrees of self-concept and socialization of female prisoners of the two groups, to reveal the motives that let women to commit criminal act and to give shed light on the differences of social and economic characteristics in the study sample, a descriptive approach have been used. To achieve the objectives of the study a scale of self-concept and socialization were applied on the two samples of the study, which included (45) female prisoners for moral crimes and (33) female prisoners for person-crimes. The results of this study showed that there was no statistically significant differences between female prisoners in the moral crimes and person-crimes in levels of self-concept and socialization, but there were significant differences between female prisoners of the two groups in the Marital Status and economic level, it also showed that there was a positive correlation between self-concept and socializing with those female prisoners. The results were discussed according to the theoretical framework and previous studies. The researcher recommended to intensify psychosocial programs to alleviate psychological disorders of female prisoners, and to focus on preparing rehabilitative programs for female prisoners, which include behavior modification programs and cognitive therap.
