Abstract : The study aimed to identify the role of the New media electronic applications "WhatsApp, Twitter, Snapchat" in exposing youth to security risks. This study takes the descriptive methodology based on social survey on a sample of youth in the community of Jeddah City. The study sample contains two kinds of samples, first sample consisting of (833) students from high schools. Second, a sample of (728) students have chosen from the universities.The study found that an increasing in the intensity of the daily hours uses of new media applications among sample. Also, it's found a high percentage of the sample uses of a fake nickname. The study found an Approximately 61% of the universities students compared to 75% of the high schools do not know that there is an informatic crimes law. In addtion, The study found that the new media applications have contributed to exposing youth to various kinds of security risks which is related to privacy, spreading criminal crime, influencing intellectual security, and spreading the culture of violence.The negative content that the respondents were actually exposed to these applications is: the spread of random clips of sex and pornography, and rumors. Also, its role of rising the issues of intolerance of all kinds sports, and tribal. The main risks associated with criminal crime is the frequent abuse of libel, and its lead a major role to spread rumors. Finally, the most prominent privacy risks in these applications is its contribution to enable users to prejudice private life To others.
