This study aimed to investigate the level of cyberbullying and self-esteem, the relationship between cyberbullying and self-esteem, and the differences in the level of cyber bullying and self-esteem based on gender and school level in a sample of adolescents. The sample was determined using simple random methods and consisted of 504 middle and high school students in Jeddah, of whom 331 were males and 173 were females. The Cyberbullying scale and self-esteem scale were administered to respondents. For data analysis, Pearson correlation and t-tests for one and two independent samples were used. The study found that the level of cyberbullying was low and the level of self-esteem was high among adolescents. There was a statistically significant relationship between some aspects of cyberbullying and some aspects of self-esteem among adolescents. There were statistically significant differences in mean of aspects of cyberbullying based on gender in favor of females except for the aspects of harassment, hostile messages, and exclusion. There were no statistically significant differences in mean of aspects of self-esteem based on gender, except for the emotional self-esteem aspect which was significantly higher for males than females. There was no statistically significant differences in mean of aspects of cyberbullying based on school level. However, there were differences in mean of aspects of self-esteem based on school level, where intermediate school adolescents had increased self-esteem than high school adolescents, except for the academic self-esteem aspect. This study provided several recommendations including implementing lessons about strategies to deal with cyberbullying in curriculums by the Ministry of Education, training students on the best methods of using electronic devices and conducting campaigns and programs to raise awareness about cyberbullying through educational and social institutions and the media.
